One interesting thing I found poking around the Common English Bible website was an Advent Blog Tour. There are 25 bloggers, each writing on a particular scripture passage for each day of December until Christmas Day. None of these bloggers are Catholic and the Scripture passages on which they are commenting do not follow the Lectionary in any way, but the list of bloggers and passages is listed when you click on the link above. It might be a nice way to acquaint yourself with other bloggers on Scripture and a different way to prepare for the coming of Christ. By the way, each of the bloggers will be commenting on the Common English Bible, so you ought to have a better sense of the translation if you follow each blogger on their particular day.
