For the first time since the partition of Ireland, Unionists are not in a majority in Stormont, where Northern Ireland’s parliament meets.

The problem of “fake news” is dizzying for journalists and media consumers alike.

The A.P.A. is not flashy, but it promotes the fair administration of laws and continuity during transitions of power; for that it should be celebrated.

This is not a country at ease with itself, if it ever were. The United Kingdom continues to display more and more intolerance and anger.
