As is tradition, Barack Obama placed a note in the Western Wall when visiting Jerusalem this past week. Someone took the note and published it in an Israeli paper. It read, "Lord, Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will." Well said. If he loses the election, perhaps the U.S. Bishops and the Vatican could hire Obama to help them with the re-writing of the Sacramentary.
