Pope Leo said that if the teen “had come all the way to Rome, then (the pope) could come all the way to the hospital to see him.”
A Reflection for Tuesday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time, by Molly Cahill
As emergency workers searched for survivors and tried to recuperate the bodies of the dead, Pope Leo XIV offered his prayers for people impacted by the latest shipwreck of a migrant boat off the coast of Yemen.
The Archdiocese of Miami celebrated the first Mass for detainees at “Alligator Alcatraz,” the Trump administration’s controversial immigrant detention center in the Florida Everglades.
Sent it out to everyone I know who is Catholic and a few others.
On the feast of St. Therese, I was at a Mass at a parish church. The priest related a story about St. Therese, about which I would like verification of the story:
St. Therese had "a Jesuit" spiritual director. She told him that she wanted to be a saint like Teresa of Avila. He told her not to pray for that purpose. She then told him that even Jesus said to be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. Then he said, "Thank good she did not listen to that priest."
Did not Saint Teresa of Avila warn us not to pray for the gifts, which others receive or received?
JMJ and Saint Ignatius,
Loved the Mother Cabini mantra. :)
Loved the Mother Cabrini prayer, but I think you have a different version from mine: ''Mother Cabrini, don't be a meanie, find me a space in front of the place!'' And then you send her sisters $5 (or $10 if you are in Manhattan) if you find a space!
Thanks for all of your work. Best wishes,
Mary Kate
